We will be contacting approved speakers soon.<\/h2>\n<p>WordPress Iloilo is actively seeking a wide variety of topics and a diverse speaker pool. You don&#8217;t have to be a professional speaker, if you are passionate about your topic and want to genuinely help out the community &#8211; we would love to have you.<\/p>\n<p>WordCamps are volunteer driven events and speaking is also considered a way of volunteering at the event, hence it isn\u2019t a paid gig or linked with sponsorship in any way. In fact, speakers are expected to pay for their own travel and accommodation.<\/p>\n<h3>What&#8217;s in it for you?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You\u2019ll be sharing your expertise live, with a warm and enthusiastic audience.<\/li>\n<li>Being a professional speaker is NOT required. HOWEVER, you must know what you are talking about.<\/li>\n<li>Your desire to give back to the community.<\/li>\n<li>In your speaker submission, let us know how your talk can relate to a WordPress audience.<\/li>\n<li>We\u2019re always on the lookout for new speakers of ALL ages and backgrounds. We also would love to see veteran speaker submissions.<\/li>\n<li>You have to know how to spell WordPress properly (cap the P!) and Respect the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/about\/logos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WordPress logo\/trademarks<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Feel free to be creative and apply ideas for group discussions, Q&amp;As, Demos, Workshops and anything that you could manage in an auditorium \/ classroom environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Rules<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Speakers are vetted by volunteers, they may not be able to reply to everyone or accommodate everyone, so be thoughtful and nice :).<\/li>\n<li>If you are distributing any WordPress derivatives which include WordPress Plugins and Themes, they need to be 100% GPL.<\/li>\n<li>Please be prepared to submit speaker slides OR review your presentation with the WCILOILO speaker team PRIOR to the event.<\/li>\n<li>If you are not using slides for your presentation, at least an outline OR points you will be covering needs to submitted.<\/li>\n<li>As mentioned above, speaking is not a paid gig. Speakers are not paid to speak at WordCamps OR paid by Organizers to travel. They have to either fund themselves OR ask their company to do so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NOTE: Call for Speaker form CLOSED.
